The following explains how the "local latency compensation" can be set manually.
Note: On the iPad, local latency compensation can only be performed manually.
Please follow these steps to set up your students settings with them:
- Start your session and let your student in.
- Switch the play direction to Student.
- Open the "Local latency compensation" app
- Open the metronome and set the tempo to approx. 60 bpm (or any other tempo)
- Start the metronome and have the student clap to the click.
- The aim is for the click and the clapping to be heard in sync.
If the student claps after the click, they need to increase the value in their latency compensation app.
If the student claps before the click, they must decrease the value.
The value is saved automatically.
Examples of common values (guidelines only!):
- Macbook with the internal sound card: approx. 58ms
- iPad with AirPods: approx. 220ms
