How do I allow screen sharing in MacOS?

Modified on Thu, 18 Jan at 2:43 PM

If you want to share content from your screen during class, it may be the case that nothing happens. This can occur when you try to share your screen for the first time or if there has been a major Google Chrome update. The reason for this is the lack of permission for sharing in the MacOS settings. This can be granted as follows:

  1. If you are in a doozzoo room, leave it and exit Google Chrome.
  2. Open the MacOS system settings.
  3. Click on Privacy & Security.
  4. In this area, click on Screen & System audio recording.
  5. Activate the switch next to Google Chrome.

Note: If you are using a different browser, activate the switch for this browser. We nevertheless recommend using Google Chrome under MacOS.

The names of the options refer to MacOS 14 (Sonoma), but are the same or similar in other versions of MacOS.
