Why do you hear an echo?
If you hear your own voice as an echo, the echo is created on the other side.
Your sound is played through your partner’s speakers, picked up again by their microphone, and sent back to you.
Important: The person who hears the echo is not the one causing it.
Why does echo occur?
Echo happens when no headphones are used but the Headphone Mode is still selected.
In Headphone Mode, software-based echo cancellation is turned off – this ensures the best sound quality but requires the use of headphones. Without headphones, you will create an echo for your partner.
The two audio modes in doozzoo
Headphone Mode
Select this mode when you are using headphones.
Provides the best possible sound quality.
⚠️ Without headphones, this mode will cause echoes for the other participants.
Speaker Mode
Select this mode when you are using speakers.
Automatically enables echo cancellation.
Sound quality is slightly reduced, but echo is avoided.
Note: On iPad devices, only Speaker Mode is available due to hardware limitations!
How to set the audio mode
You can switch between the modes at any time – in the settings from the dashboard, in the Pre-Call Check before a session, or even during a running session:
Click the arrow next to the microphone icon in the top left.
The settings menu will open on the right.
Choose between Headphone Mode or Speaker Mode.
What the modes do
Speaker Mode activates:
Echo cancellation
Noise suppression
Automatic volume adjustment
Headphone Mode disables all filters.
Remember:
With headphones → Headphone Mode (best sound, all features)
Without headphones → Speaker Mode (with echo cancellation)
