What are the differents between a Workshop Room and a Standard Room?

The standard room

In physical reality, the standard room is analogous to the small, personal classroom of a teacher in a music school. "You have to know where it is and only a limited number of participants can fit in the room. It's ideal for 1:1 and small group lessons". In doozzoo, this means that the standard room is additionally secured via a random room address. This means that each time the coach calls up or starts the room, a new random room address is created - for example: https://app.doozzoo.com/room/26-83-1-29-18. This random address makes it virtually impossible for uninvited guests to guess this room address and enter the room.

For FREE, GO or PRO users:

In order for students to find their coach in doozzoo and meet them at the agreed time, the coach must invite the student once via an invitation link. Once this is done, the student is permanently connected to the coach and can enter the teacher's room as soon as the teacher has started it.

Note: The connection with the student has another advantage: Media can be shared directly and permanently with the connected students via the media library, even if you are not in the live online session.

For institutional users:

In order for students to find their coach in doozzoo and meet them in the standard room at the agreed time, the coach must be connected to their students once centrally via the institution's admin level. Once this is done, the student is permanently connected to the coach and can enter the teacher's room as soon as it has been started by the teacher (and that it has not been locked by the teacher).

In the standard room, depending on the plan booked, different numbers of participants can enter a room at the same time:

  • FREE: 1 coach + 1 participant
  • GO: 1 coach + 6 participants
  • PRO 1 coach + 6 participants
  • INSTITUTION: 1 coach + 6 participant

The workshop room

In physical reality, the workshop room is analogous to the group room or seminar room in a music school. It allows a larger number of simultaneous participants in one room, e.g. for music theory lessons and ear training.

The advantage of the workshop room is that it offers...

  1. Space for larger groups. Depending on the plan booked:
    • FREE: no workshop room
    • GO: no workshop room
    • PRO: 1 workshop room with 20 participants
    • INSTITUTION: unlimited addable workshop rooms with 25 participants each

  1. a fixed room address and is therefore easily accessible

For FREE/GO/PRO users:

The workshop room is easy to access via a fixed room address. Each coach can individualize the address themselves, e.g.: http://app.doozzoo.com/pro/mein-wunschname . This means that participants can access the coach's classroom via the URL even without having registered with doozzoo. This has the advantage that you can offer an easy way for trial students or changing groups to meet directly.

(Of course, this fixed room address is easier for uninvited guests to guess than the highly secure standard room with its random room address. However, you can also lock the workshop room at any time so that nobody can enter the room without being asked.)

For users of a doozzoo Institution version:

The workshop room is easily accessible via a fixed room address, e.g.: http://app.doozzoo.com/edu/meinemusikschule/musiktheorie1 . This means that even participants who do not have doozzoo access can simply enter the workshop room via the URL. This has the advantage that, for example, a music school can also offer courses for students who only book this course but do not receive regular lessons. Or e.g.: for university entrance exams, the candidates are not yet students at the university, but can simply enter via the workshop room.  (Of course, this fixed room address is easier for uninvited guests to guess than the standard room with its random room address. However, you can also lock the workshop room at any time so that no one can enter the room without being asked.)

Note: Pupils/students cannot start a session, but can only take part in lessons.

Coaches can also be connected with coaches, so that they can of course also meet each other.
